Avery Marks, Editor
Avery Marks is a born and raised Oregonian, who would rather be drenched in rain than use an umbrella (with the exception of keeping books or food dry).
In her first year, Avery started the Falconer's longest running podcast, “Let’s Talk About Cult Classics,” which has since then reached its second season. Of the movies covered, one of her favorites is “Labyrinth,” despite its (very few) flaws and has both a tarot card set and RPG (role player game) based off of the cult classic movie.
Outside of journalism, Avery goes white water rafting on the Deschutes River with family friends. Despite staying in an earwig infested campsite one year, she looks forward to the adrenaline rush it gives her each year. The specific highlights of those trips include the traditions of jumping off a cliff and reading short stories by Patrick McManus, “Shooting the Chick-a-nout- Narrows” being a favorite among both families.
Whether it’s journalism, screenplays, or novels, Avery wants to pursue a career in writing in the future.
