Professional videographer and alumnus Michael Ferry ‘97 returned to La Salle on Thursday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 22 to capture footage for three short-form videos centered around La Salle’s sixth annual FalconsGive Day, according to Director of Giving & Alumni Relations Ms. Maura Carpinello.
Donors can choose from six different fundraisers, she said, allowing them the opportunity to donate towards the arts, athletics, academics, faith and service, tuition assistance, or a special fundraiser dedicated to the memory of Caitlin Elizabeth Joy ‘06.
FalconsGive Day is an annual event that focuses on fundraising as well as keeping former Falcons “connected to the nest,” Ms. Carpinello said.
“Our goal really is to get excitement about the school and to get more people to stay connected,” she said.
That connection to the nest is what brought Ferry back to La Salle.
“What drew me back here is just relationships,” he said. “I’m good friends with Chris George … I still keep in touch with a lot of the people I went to high school with.”
The three videos consist of a teaser video, feature video, and a thank you video to donors.
In previous years, the feature video was primarily about introducing what the day was all about; however, since this is the sixth installment of FalconsGive Day, the video is designed to bring more hype centered around this year’s theme: what do you love?
“That will hopefully both harken them back to their own great positive memories of La Salle and help them to see the great things going on at La Salle today and inspire them to give,” Ms. Carpinello said.
The filming itself was done at locations that alumni are likely to remember and reflect on, such as the theater, hallways and the gym, as well as areas that might be new to them, like the Hamersly Library and the science wing, according to Ms. Carpinello.
