On Saturday, Dec. 16 — the first Saturday of winter break — No. 16 ranked boys varsity basketball faced off against No. 12 ranked Smoky Hills from Colorado in the Hardwood Invite, a nationally-recognized tournament.

Despite it being a close game with runs coming from both teams, in the end Smoky Hills gutted out the win with a final score of 61-71. Senior Milan Skoro led the Falcons with 14 points, followed by juniors Vance Sheffield and Aidan Kelly, both scoring 11.

Ending the tournament with a 1-3 record, the Falcons proceeded on to the Rail City Classic down in Reno, Nevada, where they bounced back and went 3-1 with three dominant wins.

The Falcons have now entered league play, and their next home game is on Thursday, Jan. 11, against Hood River Valley.
