About the Contributor
Kailin Quatela, Assistant Editor
Kailin Quatela is in 12th grade and moved to Oregon in 2013 from the mountains of Flat Rock, North Carolina, which she still visits every summer.
Being raised in the mountains encouraged her to love spending time outdoors, whether it be hiking close by or road-tripping to explore new places. She brings her digital camera everywhere in hopes to capture candids of people or pretty shots of nature.
Outside of school, you can find her doing homework, spending time with her favorite people, and always listening to music.
Kailin indulges in many music genres with a few of her current favorite artists being Ethan Regan, Malcolm Todd, Sombr, Gracie Abrams, Noah Kahan, and Don Toliver.
Her interest in photography and meeting new people ignited an interest to join Journalism. She is currently in her second semester of the class with a role as an Assistant Editor, and she is focusing on improving her camera work and photojournalism skills. She’s excited to continue Journalism until she graduates, making connections and developing her style through her content.
Although she doesn’t know exactly what she wants to do in the future, she hopes to pursue photography throughout college, and continue to be the best version of herself she can be.
