La Salle’s prom will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

La Salle will be hosting its prom at The Aerie at Eagle Landing Golf Course on Saturday, May 18. The dance will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will end at 10:30 p.m. However, the doors will close at 9:00 p.m. After that time, students will not be allowed into the dance and all students there are required to stay until 10:00 p.m.

Tickets went on sale for seniors only on Tuesday, April 23, and became available for juniors on Wednesday, May 1. Tickets are $50 for La Salle students and $55 for any outside guest. There are only 50 guest passes available and will need to be turned into Director of Community & Student Leadership Ms. Adriana Noesi by Wednesday, May 16.

The prom was planned by a group of seniors from the Leadership class. They came up with the theme of Enchanted Night Under the Lanterns and will have decorations based off of the Disney movie “Tangled.”

The main venue will be decorated in purples and greens with fairy lights, vines, and flowers.

To take a break from the dancing, students are invited to go play a round of mini golf, surrounded by little lanterns that will be lining the pathways. This dance will be stepping away from a traditional photo booth as there will instead be a 360-degree camera photo booth in its own tent outside of the main venue.

Senior Ella McMahon shares that the planning team is “trying our best to have better music and making a better playlist so that more people will have more fun,” she said.

Originally the theme was planned to be Midnight Glimmer, but after visiting the venue and being informed about a no-glitter rule, the theme was changed to the current one.

There will also be a prom court that will be voted on within the next couple of weeks by the upperclassmen. The court will be made up of only seniors. The first round of voting will only be open for seniors and they can choose two people, and the six seniors with the most number of nominations will then be sent out to juniors and seniors for the two winners to be selected from. At the dance, the two winners will be revealed and awarded with crowns that will also match the event’s color scheme.
