Born in Pleasanton, CA, senior Lucy Loeb’s deep-rooted admiration for the Bay Area has led her to aspire to move back there someday.
Lucy’s parents decided that La Salle would be the right fit for her, and although originally unconvinced, she eventually came to agree with them.
For her first two years at La Salle, Lucy participated in the volleyball program. During the spring of her sophomore year, she decided she wanted a change of pace in athletics and began tennis, which she found to be a good outlet for socializing, stress-relief, and personal improvement.
English class has been an especially unique experience for Lucy, as the classes she has taken have been consistently challenging but have posed as an opportunity for immense growth. Lucy attributes her progress in her writing to Mr. Greg Larson, as he has changed her perspective on how she approaches English class as well as her education as a whole.
One of her favorite things to do on the weekend is walking her dog in Sellwood Park. Lucy’s dog, Lily, has impacted her life in a multitude of ways, including helping her through the pandemic and times of social distancing.
Lucy also values service and volunteer work. Her passion for giving back to the community stemmed from her experience at Rahab’s Sisters women’s shelter back in 2020 when she and her family began volunteering there. Lucy hopes to get more involved in the Lasallian Ministry and other service endeavors this year.
