Sophomore Aurora Platas is a new addition to The La Salle Falconer Journalism team. She has always enjoyed writing, and decided to join Journalism after the class was recommended to her.

Aurora has always lived in Oregon, and plans to stay here for college, apart from a possible year of college in France. She is interested in mechanical engineering, robotics, and psychology.

If she had 24 hours to do anything, she would spend the time traveling with friends through many airports, as she enjoys the packed schedule and uncertainty of airport traveling.

Between honors classes, swim, French classes across town, and Morning Choir, Aurora never feels like she gets enough sleep, yet somehow still enjoys her full schedule.

She loves reading, but doesn’t feel like she has enough time to read as much as she’d like. Some of her favorite books include — but are most definitely not limited to — “The Matchstick Castle,” “The Mysterious Benedict Society series,” and the infamous “Calvin and Hobbes” comic series.

Aurora likes cooking and baking, and is now trying to learn how to make a creamy cheese or Alfredo sauce without a recipe that won’t go weird and clumpy. She happily accepts suggestions.
