On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the La Salle boys basketball team took home a win against Summit High school. The score was close until after half time, when the Falcons were able to take a small lead over the Storm, then securing the 62-51 win.

The Falcons will have a non-league game on Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. at Sunset high school.

This year, senior Vince Faris was one of two seniors on the La Salle varsity boys basketball team, which taught him a lot about setting an example. “I think it’s how you lead rather than how many people are leading,” he said.

Suzy Valdivia was born and raised in Oregon. She attended Ron Russell Middle School, and did not begin to consider La Salle for high school until 8th grade. Suzy had always planned on going to David Douglas High School until her mom encouraged her to shadow her cousin, who attended La Salle previously and graduated in 2022. She was intrigued by the class sizes but also the community of La Salle, which eventually persuaded her to attend. Now Suzy is a part of the cheer and tennis teams at La Salle. She really enjoys the community and friendships she has built along the way. Her favorite classes she is taking this year are Honors Biology, AP English 3, and Catholic Moral Thinking/Catholic Social Teachings. In the future, Suzy hopes to attend college, but has yet to figure out what she wants to major in.
