In their final league game at the nest, nine seniors took the field one last time all together. On Tuesday, Oct. 17, La Salle, ranked #4, went up against the Canby Cougars, ranked #5, which resulted in a 2-0 victory for the Falcons.
An emotional senior presentation started off the night by presenting nine falcons who have been dedicated to the team for the entirety of their La Salle career, gifting each senior a bouquet and some personalized gifts from their families.
With the ball on the defensive side most of the first 15 minutes of the game, the Falcons were not getting many opportunities to score, but in the 13th minute they got a breakaway opportunity which senior Natalia Gonzalez, forward, was able to take advantage of and put her team in the lead.
Leading up to half time, the Cougars had a few shots on goal, but for sophomore goalie Serafina Preciso, they were easy stops.
Coming out strong in the second half, sophomore Lilly Erving scored the team’s second goal, putting them up 2-0. In the final minutes of the game, the Cougars were speeding up play, attempting to catch up, but they were unable to put points on the board and La Salle celebrated a 2-0 victory on senior night.
