On Monday, Feb. 27, the girls varsity basketball team beat Parkrose High School 61-11 in a league game.

The team is currently ranked #7 in OSAA rankings, with a league record of 12-2 and an overall record of 19-5. They finished second in the league just behind Rex Putnam High School.

This game was the last of league play and they will now look to their state playoff game which will take place Friday, March 3. Their opponent is unknown as of now as final rankings — which determine their opponent — will come out when the rankings freeze on Wednesday, March 1, at 10 p.m.

Their win was not the only thing celebrated that night, as not only was it their last league game but also their last home game of the season meaning it was senior night — a night in which all seniors on the team are celebrated.

The Falcons girls basketball team has three seniors this season: Ella Wedin, Emma Buchanan, and Yendora Young. They were honored with gift baskets and announced separately from the team. They came out with their parents, and their future plans along with their favorite memory was shared by the game’s announcer.
