Even in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, construction on the Saalfeld Athletic Center remains on schedule, according to La Salle’s Executive Director, Mr. Matthew Winningham.

After the official groundbreaking ceremony on March 3, demolition is complete, and the new home of the athletic department is beginning to materialize.

At this point in the construction process, workers have begun reconfiguring the existing athletic building, as well as expanding the building to accommodate a new, larger weight room, more storage, administrative offices for the school’s Athletic Director and the Athletic Department Assistant, a classroom, and other new, more flexible spaces.

Additionally, other projects pertaining to the new athletic center include relocating power lines, installing a new electrical transformer near the south side of La Salle’s campus, and adding other needed infrastructure.
