By beating the Ridgeview Ravens 64-28 on Saturday night, the La Salle girls basketball team advanced to the final 8 of the OSAA 5A State Championships at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, OR.

The girls, ranked 2nd in state, will play on Wednesday night at 8:15pm against Hillsboro, who they have already beat twice this season. The first match-up between La Salle and Hillsboro in January was a close one, as the team only won by 5. The second match-up in February, though, was smooth sailing for the Lady Falcons, who won by 25.

If the girls win on Wednesday, they will face the winner of Springfield and Crater on Thursday night, also at 8:15pm. If they were to win again on Thursday, they would advance to the championship game on Friday night at 6:30pm.

Many fans will be making the trip down to Corvallis this week to support the NWOC Champions as they attempt to close in on a State Championship in their first year in 5A.

“I’m excited to see our girls really do their best and try to win the day,” said sophomore Matthew Berger. “I know they will put it all on the court”.

La Salle will be offering a rooter bus as an option for students to attend the games this week. Wednesday’s bus will leave at 5pm from La Salle. There are permission slips available in the main office that are due back by 3pm on Wednesday.

The cost to ride the bus is $10 and admission for the game is $5. It is also recommended that students bring money for food.

Rooter buses will also be made available on Thursday and Friday if the girls win.
