With only the head coach returning, the La Salle lacrosse team has selected three new coaches for the upcoming season. One happens to be an alumni of La Salle from last year, Lucas Konieczny.

Lucas Konieczny is attending Clackamas Community college and is working just under 40 hours a week. He has played lacrosse since 3rd grade so there is no doubt of his knowledge of the game. But this will be his first year coaching.

Konieczny has high hopes for the upcoming season. He is very excited about coaching but he is also unsure what the season will be like. He would love to be a regular coach in the future, but he says that he needs to see what this season is going to be like. Nonetheless he is hoping for a great season.

In preparation for the season, the Falconer staff asked Lucas some questions about the upcoming season.

What are your expectations of the year? What do you predict the outcome for the season will be?

“I have a good feeling about this season and believe we will be in the positive. We have been winning one more game than the season before for the past 4 years.”

Are you expecting to be a full time coach?

“I am wanting to be there as much as possible but I do have another job but I will be there as much as possible. I should be able to get my schedule around lacrosse practices.”

Are you going to a specialized midfielders coach or just a general coach?

“I will be whatever Coach Nemmers wants me to be. I only played midfield but I have played the game long enough that I can coach each position”

What do you feel is going to be the hardest thing about being a coach?

“I think that since I was on the team last year that it might be hard for the whole team to respect me, [but overall] I think that it shouldn’t be too much trouble”
