Following a 3rd-place finish for both the boys and girls swim teams at the district meet last week in which six school records were broken, 12 La Salle swimmers will be competing at the OSAA 5A State Championships this weekend.

The six records that were broken are: Michelle Marin in the 50 yard Freestyle (25.83), Sydney Nakagawa in the 500 yard Freestyle (5:39.17), Keenan Robinson in the 200 yard Freestyle (1:50.31) and the 500 yard Freestyle (4:57.75), Adam Pearce, Tyler Nofzinger, Keenan Robinson, and Ly Van in the 200 yard Freestyle relay (1:37.95), and Hailey Higgins, Michelle Marin, Sydney Nakagawa, and Eileen Yee in the 400 yard Freestyle relay (3:37.27).

The swimmers who will be representing La Salle this weekend at State are:

Ly Van: 400 Freestyle Relay

Tyler Nofzinger: 400 Freestyle Relay

Adam Pearce: 400 Freestyle Relay

Keenan Robinson: 200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, and 400 Freestyle Relay

Matthew Williams: 200 Medley Relay (Breaststroke Leg)

Michael Riddle: 200 Medley Relay (Backstroke Leg)

Jason Waters: 200 Medley Relay (Butterfly Leg)

Keenan Jameson: 200 Medley Relay (Freestyle Leg)

Michelle Marin: 50 Freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 200 Freestyle Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay

Sydney Nakagawa: 500 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay

Hailey Higgins: 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay

Eileen Yee: 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay

The 5A State Championship meet begins with preliminary races on Friday February 20th at 6:30 PM at the Mt. Hood Community College Aquatic Center in Gresham, and swimmers who advance to the finals will compete on Saturday February 21st beginning at 6:45 PM.
