Sophomore Vanessa Su was born and raised in Portland, OR. She lived with her grandparents for the first half of her life before moving to a house that was just one mile away.

Having multiple family members who had attended La Salle previously, including her brother who was part of the class of 2022, Vanessa felt that it was a rite of passage to go to La Salle as well.

Vanessa went to Christ the King for middle school, and most of her middle school class had come to La Salle as well. Having familiar people around her during that transition period took some of the stress off of starting at a new school. Since then, Vanessa has made plenty of new friendships at La Salle that she values greatly.

Vanessa enjoys a variety of music and different artists. Some of her favorite genres include indie pop music and bossa nova, and she has recently been getting into hip-hop as well.

Along with listening to music, playing music is also something Vanessa loves to do. Piano has been a big part of Vanessa’s life since she was young. It is something she is very passionate about and she is working towards having a hundred songs in her repertoire one day.

In the future, Vanessa hopes to go to college and study psychology. Becoming a psychiatrist has been her dream career since she was young.
