Sammy Uicker, Staff Reporter
Sophomore Sammy Uicker was born and raised in Portland. His favorite thing about the city is how much good food there is.
He attended Franciscan Montessori Earth School and was drawn to La Salle because of its academics and community.
His favorite classes are AP Calculus AB, Honors English II, and Honors Chemistry. Sammy plays baseball for La Salle, and this is his first semester in Journalism.
Outside of La Salle, he enjoys reading, playing video games, and hanging out with his dog, a German Shepard mix named Candi. His favorite thing to do on the weekends is to catch up on sleep.
Sammy’s favorite place to do service is Portland Adventist Community Services, a food pantry in Northeast Portland. He likes volunteering there because he can see the direct impact of his work.
His biggest accomplishment so far was earning the scholarship he wanted for La Salle, and he wants to go into the STEM field after graduating.
