Sophomore Finn Christensen-McElroy moved to Oregon from California eight years ago, having grown up in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Although the rainy weather was a big adjustment at first, in her opinion the beautiful environment definitely makes up for it. 

Finn swims year-round for David Douglas High School as a member of their club team, and is on the La Salle swim team as well. She’s tried many sports — soccer, basketball, dance, track, volleyball, and golf — but swimming is her favorite, as she’s been doing it since a young age and has always loved the water. 

Her favorite classes this year are Honors English II, Journalism, and German. Finn has always enjoyed reading and writing, and hopes to expand these skills both in Honors English II and Journalism. She loves German because of the classroom environment, teacher, and her plans to attend college in Germany. 

Outside of school, Finn is also a member of La Salle’s theater. In her free time she likes to read, play with her puppy, listen to music, hang out with friends, and go for walks around her neighborhood. Her favorite season is fall because of how pretty all of the trees are around where she lives.
