On Thursday, May 15, La Salle students attended an assembly planned by the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) affinity group.
To start the assembly, junior Larissa Bonn and sophomore Haylee Nguyen spoke, followed by senior Halle Ngo, and finally Fine Arts Department Chair Ms. Cha Asokan. After the speeches, to wrap up the assembly, students watched sophomores Izzy Garlington and Katie Grace Liu perform a traditional Filipino Tinikling Dance with the help of sophomore Gian Manzon. This dance uses bamboo poles clapped together on the ground to mimic the movements of the Tikling bird.
