Crazy and Unique Holidays All Over the World

When people think of holidays, many think of the major ones: Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and the Fourth of July But while these are very big worldwide, there are a ton of holidays every day of the year that go unnoticed. There is a holiday every day of the year celebrated by people all over the globe, and so here is a list of a few of the more unique ones.
January:
Bubble Bath Day- January 8th
What better way to to kick back and relax than taking a nice warm bubble bath? On Bubble Bath Day you now have an excuse to do just that! Whip those bubbles out and get going.
February:
International Sword Swallowers Day- Feb 28
For fans of Ripley’s Believe It or Not, this is a very exciting day. Every year on the 28th, veterans and current swallowers gather to honor past members and also to raise money for Esophageal Cancer Research.
March:
International Day of Happiness:20
This day is just about being happy and enjoying life. A day to celebrate everything good in your life and just put a smile on your face.
April:
National Grilled Cheese Day – April 12th
Do you love warm bread and cheese stacked together? Then this day is for you! Enjoy it on any bread of your choice and
the cheese of your dreams on this special day that will make your mouth smile with happiness.
May:
Batman Day- May 1st
Attention Gotham: This is the day to celebrate the Dark Knight. In commemoration with his first appearance in Detective Comics #27, this is DC’s official appreciation day for the beloved Batman.
June:
National Go Barefoot Day- June 1st
By June, you’ve had to wear shoes all school year and your toes are just begging you to take your shoes off. On the 1st, let loose by going barefoot and celebrating this special day.
July:
National Hot Dog Day – July 23rd
An American classic, on the 23rd celebrate the Hot Dog by eating as many as you can. Eat them as a family, alone, or at a potluck with friends!
August:
National Roller Coaster Day- August 16th
In memoriam of the first ever roller coaster, this holiday encourages spectators of all ages to go to their local amusement park and enjoy the rides they offer. Many companies such as Six Flags offer discounted tickets and in-park surprises just for Roller Coaster Day.
September:
Elephant Appreciation Day- September 22nd
Since 1996, people of all ages have celebrated this day on the 22nd. In captivity they are also very fond of cabbage, lettuce, bananas, apples and many other types of fruits and vegetables so bring some snacks and enjoy the large and adorable animals.
October:
National Taco Day- October 4th
Last year Americans ate over 4.5 billion tacos!
That’s 490,000 miles of tacos, which could take you to the moon and back or, if you prefer, could, at 775-million pounds, equal the weight of two Empire State Buildings. Go out and get a taco and celebrate this tasty holiday.
November:
Mickey Mouse Day- November 18th
Aw, the 18th. A day to celebrate one of the most beloved characters ever created. Celebrate this holiday by watching some classic Disney movies and some popcorn.
December:
National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day- December 12th.
A newer holiday, National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day unites everybody around the world who loves a crazy and cozy sweater. Celebrate with friends and see who has the ugliest sweater.
