Sophomore Sophia Igarashi grew up in Oregon, but spent a lot of her summers in Germany with her family. Attending Whitford Middle School for her first year of middle school but later moving to St. Anthony’s Catholic School, she ended up going to La Salle on a whim.
Her biggest accomplishments in life so far is learning to play the violin, along with currently taking Honors German 3. Having joined journalism out of curiosity, she is excited to get to use her camera at school practicing taking pictures of different things.
Outside of school, she enjoys cooking and baking, along with playing the piano and violin. Sophia also likes going out with friends and traveling. She’s been to England, Germany, France, Canada, and Japan, and in the future, she really wants to go to Korea or Taiwan.
While she doesn’t have a job now, she is hoping to be able to get a summer job at OMSI. Her plans for the future aren’t totally set, but she knows she wants to do college abroad in Europe. Wanting to work in many different fields like science or business, she also has thought about becoming an architect or an investigative journalist.
