Maya Calik has always lived in Oregon, but loves traveling anywhere and everywhere in the world. 

Originally, what brought Maya to La Salle was quality education. She attended Happy Valley Middle School and when she was in elementary school she found herself interested in La Salle when her dad introduced it to her.

Maya does not have a favorite class but she believes that all of them have different important qualities and values to them.

Maya participates in a couple of extracurricular activities. She participates in the Speech and Debate team and the swim team. She practices volleyball and badminton in her free time, whether that be at a gym or with her friends. Her favorite part of those activities are competing, trying her best, and overall, trying new things. 

Maya’s favorite thing to do during the weekends is to gather with old and new friends, hike or walk around town with family, and relax and watch movies. 

Maya’s passions are environmental conservation, painting, and cooking.

On Maya’s bucket list for this year, she strives to make many new friends and be a good student to her community and peers. 

Maya has traveled to a few countries in Europe, as some of her family is from there, and a couple  parts of Asia. She hopes to travel to New York one day and visit more places in Europe and Asia.
