On Tuesday, April 8 at 4 p.m., La Salle hosted their first home meet against Canby High School and St. Helens High School. The afternoon consisted of many individuals hitting personal records (PRs) as well as many varsity events being won by the Falcons.
In the women’s 1500 meter race, senior Maya Crimin won first followed by sophomore Lucy Schuster, and senior Melly Riel came in third. Additionally, Schuster and Crimin both achieved PRs.
In women’s pole vault, senior Maria Buczkowski came in first, and senior Sophia Clasen won the women’s 200 meters also achieving a PR.
Moving to the men’s 3000 meter race, sophomores Jackson Hawkins, Chase Connor, and Ryan Lengkeek swept the first three places, each earning a PR.
Juniors Cooper Eldon and Jayden Gilbert, and seniors Benjamin McIntosh and Quentin Torbert competed as a team in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays. The group won and pulled off PRs for both. In men’s discus, sophomore Micah Goble earned a win and also got a PR.
The next meet is an invitational at Wilsonville High School this Saturday, April 12, and the next home meet is on April 15 against Hillsboro High School.
