About the Contributors
Zayna Elkhal, Staff Reporter
Sophmore Zayna Elkhal’s family is originally from Syria, and she loves snowboarding, dark chocolate, reading, and writing.
Before the sixth grade Elkhal despised reading and writing. She would always just stare at the book and pretend to read it during reading time. It wasn’t until the sixth grade during Covid-19 she was so bored, that she got into reading.
All it took was one good book to set her off. She now reads romance and thriller novels.
However, it wasn’t until seventh grade she started to like writing. Specifically she would write slam poetry.
Her poetry was more about how she felt. It was a way for her to express herself.
Since then, Elkhal has decided to join journalism to better her writing and comprehending skills.
Audrey Waters, Editor
Junior Audrey Waters lives in Milwaukie, only a short commute away from La Salle. With an unexpected change in her plans for high school she ended up at La Salle, after receiving a recommendation from a family friend.
She attended Hosford Middle School, where she was in a Chinese Immersion program. This year her favorite classes include Honors Spanish 3, AP English 3, and Honors Biology. Audrey also hopes to work in the medical field in the future, since it has always fascinated her.
She enjoys photography, video editing, and listening to music. She listens to basically every genre, as it all depends on her mood.
