Bump. Set. Spike. The ball sailed back and forth across the net. The crowd cheered loud as they shook the bleachers in the Brick Oven. La Salle varsity volleyball was playing Wilsonville High School.
Wilsonville won the first set.
La Salle won the second.
Wilsonville came back to win the third set.
And La Salle pulled through to win the fourth.
It all came down to the fifth set.
Despite an exciting comeback, La Salle ultimately lost by three points.
The team’s next game will be on the road against Putnam High School on Thursday, Sept. 21. Their next home game will be on Tuesday, Sept. 26 against Milwaukie High School, with a theme of surfer vs. biker.
