Promposals can be big gestures, but there’s always the smaller, more intimate ways to ask your potential date to prom. Here are 10 ideas for how to create a fond memory and potential keepsake for that special person in your life.

Even though prom has been around for many decades, the history of promposals is unknown. It is believed that they first became popular in 2001, but it wasn’t until March of 2016 when Men’s Wearhouse marked March 11 as the official holiday for promposals.

La Salle’s Leadership class announced that they will be hosting a promposal contest, where the winner with the best promposal will receive two free tickets to prom.

For these promposal ideas, you will need a poster board to make the signs, as well as candy, flowers, or a stuffed animal which could be included as well. The goal of a promposal is to bring joy and excitement to the person receiving it for the upcoming date along with asking the person to the dance. Here are a few examples to show your date how much you care.
