Brett and Buster: Beach Break

Cadence Wooden, Staff Reporter

“Brett and Buster” is a new comic in The Falconer with weekly editions for the remainder of the year.

The inspiration for this story was from my dad, Brett, who as a high school student at La Salle would love to draw cartoons on his school work and desk. I always enjoyed hearing about the artwork he’d done and seeing the things he’d sketched out on paper, so I wanted to bring his story to life with this comic strip.

The drawings had come from some of the little pieces of art done on old pieces of homework that teachers enjoyed being able to view as they graded the work, inspiring me to bring those comics to a source where everyone can see them.

“Brett and Buster” is about a boy and his dog who go on all different types of adventures during the school year, giving a perspective on what it is like to be a kid — in a fun and happy light.

Buster is the dependable sidekick that everyone wants to have and will always give you a laugh. And Brett, on the other hand, is mainly known for his creativity in all types of situations.

For the inaugural edition, Brett and Buster are getting ready to go on spring break, but they have no idea where they are going. Once they arrive at the beach, they’re happy to explore and relax.
