La Salle Holds Its Second Open Mic Night of the Year

  • Providing a break from the stress of upcoming finals, La Salle held its second Open Mic Night of the school year on Friday, Jan. 13.

  • While greeting guests at the theater entrance, freshman Makayla Phillips and senior Marieka Kaufman collected the one dollar admission fee.

  • Junior Izzy Sulloway Ferreras sang “Favorite Crime” by Olivia Rodrigo.

  • Singing “Easy On Me” by Adele, senior Lilly Tiller performed at Open Mic Night.

  • Returning Open Mic Night performer senior Ava Engelhard sang “Clementine” by grentperez.

  • Seniors Nicholas Hounton and Max Ramirez-Hernandez, along with sophomore Qahara Hepper, collaborated to perform a French song “Les Champs Élysées” by Joe Dassin.

  • Returning pianist, junior Kaden Nguyen performed “Reflets Dans L’eau” by Debussy.

  • Singing “Your Song” by Elton John, senior Isabella Simonutti returned to perform at Open Mic Night.

  • For her first time performing at an Open Mic Night this year, sophomore Bella Buss performed “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse while playing the guitar.

  • Mr. Greg Larson performed at Open Mic Night, once again, singing “High and Dry” by Radiohead while playing the guitar.

  • Coming together to perform a duet, seniors Halia Ritcher and Jasmine Scherzinger sang “Something in the Orange” by Zach Bryan.

  • Juniors Gabby Wolfe, playing the guitar, and singer Angelina Lopez joined forces to both MC the event and perform “She Makes Dirty Words Sound Pretty” by Pierce The Veil.

  • While collaborating at Open Mic Night, sophomores Owen Kuntz, on the piano, and Mateo Madrigal, on the drums, performed a jazz song, “Take Five” by Dave Brubeck.

  • Singing “A Little Closer” by FINNEAS while playing the guitar, sophomore Charlie Lewy returned to Open Mic Night.

  • Junior Bruce Juarez performed “Love On The Brain” by Rihanna.

  • On his electric bass, freshman Noah Savanh performed “My Own Summer (Shove It)” by Deftones.

  • Returning performer junior Estrella Zamora sang “All I Ask” by Adele.

On Friday, Jan. 13, La Salle hosted its second Open Mic Night of the school year.

With 15 performances, some of which were returning performers from the previous Open Mic Night, La Salle’s community gathered for a night of stress-free fun.

Performances included a variety of genres, from heavy metal to soothing soul music, accommodating the various music tastes of the audience.
