On Friday, Dec. 9, the boys and girls swim teams won their first official meet of the season and competed against Hillsboro High School.

The pool was loud with cheers coming from the crowd and members of the team who were encouraging their teammates to “go!”

For swim coach and Director of Community and Student Leadership Ms. Adriana Noesi, team camaraderie is her favorite part of the meets. “It was amazing,” Ms. Noesi said. “I think my favorite part of the sport is that because the boys and the girls JV and varsity all practice together … the kids all root for one another.”

She also notes that because swimmers across the teams recognize how hard some of the swimming events can be, at the meets everyone is cheering for everyone, even members of the competing team.

The swim teams’ next meet will be on Dec. 15 at the Canby Swim Center against Canby High School and Wilsonville High School.
