On Saturday Oct. 22, La Salle held its annual Believe auction and fundraiser in the gym to raise money to support students and activities.

The goal of the event was to raise more than $300,000 to go towards a multitude of beneficial services for the student body, primarily financial assistance for over 60% of La Salle’s students. The profits also go toward student clubs, St. La Salle Day, Journey, and the modernization of the main hallway.

The Believe Benefit Dinner and Auction is La Salle’s largest fundraising event of the year, garnering 375 guests in outfits ranging from “denim to diamonds,” Vice President of Advancement & Communications Ms. Andrea Burns said. “[The dress code is] a reflection of our community, and we felt like that fits us best.”

Throughout the evening, a diverse group of students involved in various activities at La Salle spoke about their experiences and time at the school. Different teachers, administrators, and members of the leadership team collaborated to choose students who they thought were “a really nice representation and a reflection of the entire student body,” Ms. Burns said.

The name “Believe” was picked deliberately by the school as “a testament to the fact that our community believes in our students and believes in our mission,” Ms. Burns said.
