On Friday, May 27, at 9:00 am, La Salle students gathered in the gym for an assembly held on behalf of St. La Salle day — a day held to honor the founder of La Salle. The assembly was held to honor winter and spring sports accomplishments this year as well as to recognize the teachers and staff that are leaving the La Salle community this year.

After the assembly, La Salle hosted its first on-campus St. La Salle day since 2019. St. La Salle day is an on-campus carnival filled with excitement and entertainment, created as a way to give students a day of fun as the school year comes to a close.

The day was lively, buzzing with people and things to do. On the football field students could participate in wipeout or race a peer in an obstacle course. Behind the stands was a dunk tank with teachers that students could submerge in water. Outside the gym was an ice cream truck offering a variety of flavors to choose from. Tie Dye, henna, friendship bracelets, face painting, and more occurred in La Salle’s main hallway and cafeteria courtyard.

As St. La Salle day came to a close around 1:00 pm, freshman, sophomores, and juniors were called back to the gym to coordinate a surprise for the class of ‘22. As a final goodbye students created a tunnel for the seniors to run through, as they once did on their very first day at La Salle.
