“My favorite memory is probably the Wilsonville game at home,” Junior Nick Robertson said. “We really don’t like them and it felt good to finally beat them.”

The boys varsity basketball team ended their season, which started Nov. 15, after losing 47-56 against #8 Ashland.

The team ended the season with an 11-3 regular season record.

The varsity ranked ninth in the OSAA 5A division and fourth in Northwest Oregon conference.

Overall the team totaled 1,381 points over the course of the season. Their highest scoring game was against West Albany with a win of 79-49.

The team started off the season with a non-league game against Westview. They won the game by one point with a score of 57-56. Junior Nick Robertson said, “[A] good memory was our first game this year at Westview because it was my first time playing with a lot of my teammates and it helped gel our team together a lot.”

The varsity team had six more non-league games and won two and lost four.

The team is led by head coach Sean Kelly and assisted by coaches Ron DePalma, who is also the JV head coach and Josh Gardener, also the JV2 coach.

The team has 15 players; three who are seniors, 11 who are juniors, and one who is a sophomore who plays up from the JV team.

The varsity had its senior night on Feb. 25 for seniors Keean Edeline, Seth Wobig, and Jacob Scacco.

They also hosted a Future Falcon night on Feb. 8 with a win of 67-48 against Parkrose High School.

Reflecting on the season Robertson said, “I would say the biggest takeaway I have is that experience matters. I think our inexperience hurt us a lot at certain points, but our new experiences will help us a lot next year.”
