On Friday, Jan. 7, the La Salle swim team competed against Scappoose. The meet started at 4:30 p.m. and ended around 6:30 p.m.

Junior Charlie Dougherty was one of the many swimmers who attended the meet, he swam the 500 yards freestyle event. “It was relaxing,” Dougherty said. “Just because you don’t have to full-on sprint the whole time.”

Many of the JV swimmers participated in the 100 yards freestyle for the first time, having done quite well. “We are going to experiment and have people swim a variety of things,” Head Coach Paul Collins said.

The next meet will be on Friday, Jan. 14, against Hillsboro, Scappoose, and Milwaukie at the North Clackamas Aquatic Center. Due to the large number of athletes, no spectators will be allowed to attend.
