On Tuesday, Sept. 21, the La Salle varsity volleyball team played against Rex Putnam High School. They won against Putnam 3-0 at home in the Brick Oven. This was their 9th game of the season and their 8th win.

“Overall, I would say the game went pretty well,” said Olivia Maulding, junior. “We came out ready to compete, but we kind of slowed down at the beginning of the second set. I was proud of how we were able to bounce back by playing at a fast tempo and finishing the match strong.”

The varsity volleyball team is halfway through their season with 10 games left.

“As a team, our main goal is to better ourselves every time we touch the ball,” Maulding said. “Whether that be at practice, in games, or throughout tournaments, we want to use any time we are given on the court to our advantage. If we stay focused and really strive to accomplish our goal, I am super excited to see how far we will go this year.”

Their next match is an away game against Milwaukie High School on Thursday, Sept. 23.
