Governor Kate Brown has urged Oregonians to stay at home to slow down the rate of COVID-19 cases.

As the COVID-19 pandemic worsens, stores, restaurants, and other nonessential businesses across the state have shut their doors, and the once-bustling city streets are now void of life.

After Governor Kate Brown passed Executive Order 20-12, also known as the “Stay at Home, Save Lives” order, air travel through Portland International Airport decreased by 90%, and populated areas such as Pioneer Place and Clackamas Town Center have fully closed.

Recently, TriMet also announced a plan to reduce service on all of their bus, MAX, and WES Commuter Rail lines beginning on April 5, and the agency is now encouraging anyone who can find alternate modes of transportation to do so.

Here’s a look at how downtown has changed since the start of the pandemic:
