As La Salle students must once again say goodbye to summer and hello to the hallways of La Salle, it’s not surprising that many students are most likely feeling a bit moody. Going from sleeping in, laying in the sun, and swimming every day, to waking up early each morning and listening to teachers give lessons all day is a tough transition to make. To ease you back into the school year, and help relieve your stress, here are seven songs to help you chill out and de-stress at the end of a long school day.

1.) Sunflower – Rex Orange County

Rising star Rex Orange County will instantly put you in a better mood with his super sweet single, “Sunflower.” The simple yet eclectic guitar riffs, mixed with charming lyrics, make this song a great one to kick back and relax to after a long day at school.

2.) Dark Red – Steve Lacy

Guitarist, vocalist, and producer Steve Lacy will take the edge off of school with his alternative R&B song, “Dark Red,” from his six-track “Steve Lacy’s Demo EP.” With his smooth voice and mellow mix of funky beats, this song is perfect to add to your playlist.

3.) Manastra – Summer Salt

“Manastra” by Summer Salt will take you back to the feeling of summer as you struggle to say goodbye to the sunny season of freedom. The beachy and carefree vibe in “Manastra” is just what you need to chill out and relax once again.

4.) Paranoid – Post Malone

“Paranoid,” from Post Malone’s most recent album, “Beerbongs & Bentleys,” is the type of song you can’t help but sing your heart out to. With Post’s catchy lyrics and melodic voice, you will be listening to this song on repeat all day.

5.) Everytime – Boy Pablo

Boy Pablo’s song, “Everytime,” from his album “Roy Pablo,” is the perfect song to ease you back into the school year. With its easy-going sound and chill beats, this song will take away any stress you might be feeling as you get back into the school routine.

6.) Lost & Found – Jorja Smith

Up and coming artist Jorja Smith’s angelic and soulful voice brings a unique sound to all of her music, and “Lost & Found” off her latest album is no exception. With her slow and smooth sound, Smith’s music is great to listen to while grinding on homework.

7.) Dancing – Mellow Fellow

Whether you’re looking to relax, sing, or just boost your mood a little, “Dancing,” by Mellow Fellow is exactly what you need. This laid-back song about dreams and regrets has a vintage vibe that is hard not to enjoy.

Peyton, I always appreciate hearing new music. Thanks for getting these songs out to recovering grunge rockers like myself.
