Spring Sports Update: Districts and State Championships
As league play comes to an end for spring sports, most La Salle teams will be going to districts, state or regionals to compete for a title.
Baseball
The baseball team has gone 9-5 this season in league and 12-9 overall with two games coming up before the end of league. They beat the 2014 State Champion, Sandy, in back to back games with scores of 4-2 and 8-0. As league games come to an end this week, the boys look forward to state and feel like they have already made a statement in the Northwest Oregon Conference.
Senior night for the baseball team is Wednesday, May 13th at 5 pm, at home against Hillsboro. Come support the seniors and help them get a win over the Spartans!
Softball
With an overall record of 12-12 and 9-5 in league, La Salle’s softball team hopes to win their final two games to advance into the state playoffs. The Falcons are tied for third in league with Liberty and Hillsboro.
Senior and co-captain Shannon Stockfleth says that the next two league games this week are huge for the girls and will put them exactly where they want to be in state playoffs. “We are doing so well right now with hitting and field but, for every team, there is still room for improvement. If we hit like we are capable of doing, we will do great things on the field.”
Senior night takes place on Wednesday, May 13th at 5 pm, at home against Parkrose. Come support the three seniors, the co-captains, and the team on their special night!
