As Playoffs End, 31 Players Get All-League Recognition

In first two weeks of November, several La Salle fall sports went into the playoffs for a run at a state title. Here’s a recap of the end of the season, along with a list of the 31 La Salle athletes who earned all-league recognition.

Volleyball

Volleyball started off the action packed weekend of Falcon playoffs with their first game being against No. 6 ranked Crater. After beating Crater, the team played again on Friday against No. 7 ranked Marist Catholic. Marist won the third and fourth game, but the lady Falcons were able to pull out another win in the fifth game, 15-5. This advanced volleyball to the Finals, against No. 5 ranked St. Helens. The girls put up a fight and won game 2, but lost in the fourth game 25-17, earning them a second place finish in the OSAA 5A State Championships.

Girls Soccer

In Soccer, both boys and girls traveled to Bend to play No. ranked 1. Summit boys and No. ranked 4th Summit girls soccer teams. Girls played at noon and the boys played at 3:00pm. The girls game was back to back goal scoring through the first half and at the start of the second, the Falcons were only down by one. However, later in the game, Summit was able to put away two more goals and finish a win over the Falcons, 5-2. The girls however have much to be proud of, finishing in the top eight in state and fourth in Northwest Oregon Conference. Below, is All-League recognition of players from the team.

Tori Goodman, Aleah Goodman, Tayla Holenstein, and Claire Primack

Boys Soccer

The boys also played Summit. The team played hard and ended up with the first half being only down by one goal. By the end of the game, the boys lost 2-0. Like the girls, they finished within the top eight teams in 5A and third in Conference. The recognition received to the players is below.

Football

Even though they did not make it to the playoffs, some individual players from the Falcon Football team got league recognition for their hard work during the season.
