Student of the Week: Sabrina Sandberg

Sarah Mische, Staff Reporter

As part of our Student of the Week feature, one student is profiled  for their outstanding academic achievements and involvement at La Salle.

Coming to La Salle from a class of 27, freshman Sabrina Sandberg was nervous until she realized that being friendly and being herself was all she had to do. Feeling more at ease in her new school, Sabrina has dived into many things at La Salle like varsity tennis and the freshman leadership team, maintaining an impressive 4.0 GPA, while being involved in many activities.

Favorite Class: She loves both Art Foundations and Physics because she is learning a lot and being challenged. She likes the creative energy in Art and the fun demonstrations in Physics. One thing that stands out to her in both of these classes is the dedication of the teachers to the subject and the students because it makes the classes more enjoyable.

Hardest Teacher: Mrs. Gantt, her Spanish teacher pushes her to work hard. She expects a lot out of her students, which challenges Sabrina, but she appreciates it because she gains a better understanding of the material.

Tennis: Being a freshman on the varsity tennis team, Sabrina was intimidated at first, but as the season went on, she made some good friends and bonded with the team. She also has noticed herself improving and she cannot wait to play next year.

Freshman Leadership Team: Her part is to help plan small events like the high school placement test and open house. She likes doing this because she has learned more about La Salle and gets to bond with other students, building the community she enjoys here.

Running for Sophomore Class President: In her efforts to get more and more involved in La Salle, Sabrina is running for Sophomore class president. If elected class president, she wants to have a bigger hand in student events like dances and sporting events. Her goal is to make student social events like these as much fun as possible for her fellow Lasallians so they can enjoy their time in high school while it lasts.
