James Garone

James Garone, Staff Reporter

Sophomore James Garone was born in New York, but moved to Portland when he was three.

After going to St. Ignatius, a small Catholic school on Powell Boulevard, he came to La Salle for high school, motivated by a great experience he had while shadowing.

He has always been interested in computer science, and because of this, absolutely loves the computer science courses offered at La Salle, shown through his participation in Computer Science 2 this year.

Outside of school, James plays ultimate frisbee and tutors at his old school.

On the weekends, James likes to sit back and play lots of video games, along with going out and hanging out with his friends. One place he loves to meet them is Fat Straw, a boba tea shop on Hawthorne, where he used to walk after school.

He has traveled all over Europe — with a specific fondness for Germany — as well as Canada and Mexico. In the future, he would really like to visit Southeast Asia.

This year, James aims to become organized, consistently be on top of his schoolwork, and be a more outgoing person.
