Charlie Gattman, Staff Reporter
Charlie Gattman is currently a senior. He is new to journalism, but hopes to learn as much about it as he can in his last semester. Marine Biology is his favorite class at La Salle, in addition to Intro to Design Thinking and U.S. Government.
Charlie is fascinated by many different areas of science: anthropology, geography, and linguistics to name only a few. But the science that has captivated him the most is meteorology, specifically the science behind severe storms (supercells) and tornadoes. His favorite thing to do in his free time is to check the National Weather Service website for the latest tornado watches, convective outlooks, and sounding analyses.
After he graduates, Charlie plans to take a gap year before attending the University of Oklahoma to major in meteorology. He hopes to be a storm chaser and field scientist to research supercells and tornadoes in the Midwest and work for the National Weather Service to enhance the understanding of severe weather as a whole.
