On the night of Saturday, May 17, Lasallians and their guests put on formal attire and boarded the Portland Spirit for prom, with the theme being “Mamma Mia.”

In the course of the sail along the Willamette River, Lasallians danced, enjoyed complimentary sweet treats, and relaxed on the upper deck.

Emmett Strackany is a sophmore student who was born in Oregon and has lived there his entire life. He loves all seasons here, but his favorite is probably fall. After previously attending Franciscan Montessori Earth School (FMES) for middle school, Emmett came to La Salle with nearly everyone else from his class. He greatly loves FMES and hopes to revisit every chance he gets.  At La Salle he loves Journalism and it is by far his favorite subject. In addition to general writing, Emmett enjoys reading and consuming news articles or listening to the morning news on the radio. Emmett plans to spend a full eight semesters in Journalism, and will be one of the first to do so if he is successful.  Emmett’s hobbies include playing the piano, rock climbing, and of course, writing freely. For his college life, he plans to major in Journalism and minor in Pre-Law, then attend Lewis and Clark Law School as part of his goal to eventually become a legal consultant.
