About the Contributors
Olivia Klein, Staff Reporter
Freshman Olivia Klein has lived in Portland, Oregon, her whole life. She enjoys camping and being out on the water or in nature.
Olivia was led to La Salle by her older sister, a recent graduate from the class of 2024. Olivia’s favorite class so far is Physics with science teacher Mr. Kyle Voge, as he makes the class more interactive and unique compared to a standard classroom. Aside from the struggles of maintaining a busy schedule, she kept straight A’s all throughout middle school and is hoping to do the same for high school.
Outside of school, Olivia plays volleyball for La Salle as a defensive specialist or libero. She began playing volleyball in seventh grade for CYO, and has continued to grow and play since. Additionally, she is planning on trying out for Falcons tennis in the spring.
She is extremely busy after school with practice and loads of homework, but when given any slight chance, will go to hangout with her friends. Baking for her friends is one of her favorite things to do.
Ava Slater, Staff Reporter
Freshman Ava Slater has lived in Oregon her whole life, staying in Happy Valley for the majority of that time. Ava enjoys the unpredictable and diverse weather in Oregon, especially when all the leaves turn orange in the fall.
Ava’s family was brought to La Salle because of its exceptional academics and strong community. She graduated from Holy Family Catholic School last year.
She has enjoyed track and field in the spring for the past few years and is planning to continue at La Salle. Outside of school and sports, Ava enjoys playing with her French bulldog, Pierre, and her Rottweiler, Roxy.
Ava enjoys French and math. This is her first year taking French, but she already feels like she has learned a lot and has had a lot of fun in her class. She likes math because it has a lot of real-life applications and will help her in the future.
Ava has always wanted to visit France, so she is hoping to go there with La Salle when she is an upperclassman.
