La Salle welcomed approximately 675 individuals — consisting of Future Falcons and their families — during this year’s Open House on Sunday, Nov. 3, according to Director of Admissions Ms. Kelsey Hui.
The Open House is an opportunity for families to understand the atmosphere at La Salle, Ms. Hui explained, including the educational, social, and extracurricular environment.
“Every single academic department was featured,” Ms. Hui said. “We talked about student life and leadership, diversity, equity and inclusion. That includes affinity groups, travel programs, visual arts, science demos, the Innovation and Design Center was open, all the sports, [and] all performing arts.”
Ms. Hui says that in order to make this large and lively event possible, it takes around two months of dedication.
“The amount of planning that goes involved in this event is monumental,” she said.
In total around 130 ambassadors, 30 parent volunteers, and the entire faculty and staff participated to make this year’s Open House a success, Ms. Hui explained. In particular, she expressed that all of the student ambassadors “really care about what they’re telling families and that makes all the difference.”
Hui also wanted to express her gratitude and appreciation to everyone who participated in Open House.
“This event really doesn’t happen if this many hands are not available to support it.” Hui said. “It’s a team effort. It takes a village.”
