La Salle held its National Honor Society (NHS) induction on Monday, Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the theater. La Salle’s junior and senior students qualify for induction based on a variety of criteria, which includes having a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.75 and above across all previous semesters of high school.
Spanish teacher and Educator of the Year Ms. Amy Gantt spoke about her journey to become Educator of the Year, referencing the significant role her high school’s NHS chapter played in her decision to pursue education as a career. She later talked about the past, present, and future for the inductees along with the history of the institution, which has been around for 103 years.
Five student leaders from La Salle’s NHS chapter addressed the new members, highlighting its four pillars of Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service.
In total, there were two students from the class of 2025 and 54 students from the class of 2026 that received an NHS certificate of membership.
