Whether their future home is seven miles away or 2,872 miles away, four Falcon athletes gathered in the gym after school on Wednesday, Feb. 7 to sign their National Letter of Intent to play a collegiate sport.
Signees included seniors Sydney Spotts, who is headed to Portland State for soccer, Kevin Serrano-Maldonado, who signed to play for Whitman University’s soccer team, Lucas El Youssef, who is going to Western Oregon University for football, and Hailey Heytvelt, who is attending Campbell University for volleyball.
While there were numerous family members there, the gym was also filled with fellow Falcons including teammates, friends, and students stopping in to support the four seniors who took a big step in their athletic careers.
The ceremony included commentary from Athletic Director Mr. Chris George on each of the senior’s athletic careers and achievements at La Salle, and was followed by the signing of the document and celebration among friends and family.
