AFC Bournemouth
Being a newly promoted team is hard.
Bournemouth is one of three newly promoted teams trying to beat the odds and secure a spot in Premier League soccer for another season.
They started their campaign with a win against Aston Villa, but their next three matches were unsuccessful, all being against top-six teams: Man City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
The game against Liverpool was a travesty, ending in a 0-9 loss. The manager Scott Parker was sacked, or fired, after this match, even though he had led the team to promotion.
Since Gary O’Neil was appointed as manager as Parker’s replacement, the team has had some success, but they have also had some unfortunate results, such as the match versus Leeds United in which they lost 2-3.
The team is entering the second half of the season in 14th, and they are only three points above relegation.
However, they have the worst defensive record in the league and have only managed to score 18 goals from 18 games. In the past, teams with the worst defensive record are the ones that usually get sent packing to the Championship League — the second tier of English Football.
Bournemouth simply does not look strong enough to stay in the Premier League.
