Humans of La Salle: Spring Break Plans

Spring break is quickly approaching, and members of the La Salle community are getting excited about the fun and relaxing week ahead. We asked several students and staff members about their plans, and what they’re most looking forward to during the break. 

Freshmen:

Mary Hanley

“For spring break I’m going to Palm Springs. [I’m going to] hike and swim in the pool.”
Simon Abraha

“I’ll just be staying home, hanging out with friends, and playing some video games. I’ll do some chores and stuff.”

Cameron Rast

“I’m going to be watching all of the March Madness games hopefully, and I will be going to California this weekend to go to Santa Clara to see my brother.”

Sophomores:

Gigi Gottsch

“I’m going to Cannon Beach. We’re going down for my sister’s bachelorette party. We’re hanging out at our friend’s beach house for a week.”

Noa Taylor

“I’m going to the beach with my friends for about a week. I’m going to play soccer, go swimming, and get salt water taffy. [It] should be fun.”
Alec Willard-Herr

“I’m going to Disneyland with my family on a trip. We go down there and we go to my aunt and uncle’s house and just hang out.”

Juniors:

Lindsay Drango

“I’m going to Georgia to see my grandparents. [I’m] just staying in their new house they got. My sister is joining us from college. She’s at the [California Institute of Technology] right now.”
Natalie Sharp

“I’m going to Seaside. We’re just going to hang out [and] look at some shops. I’m [also] going to the boardwalk.”
Luke Wild

“I’m going up to Seattle to visit some colleges with my family. I’m going to visit Gonzaga [University] and maybe Seattle University.”
Seniors:

Leland Wong

“I’m going to Hawaii, specifically Oahu. I’m really excited to spend quality time with my two younger brothers and teach them how to surf. We’re going to eat a ton of Hawaiian food, and planning to relax on the beach and not think about college or the current school year. It is definitely going to be helpful to get away for a bit.”

Isaac Kersey-Bronec

“I’m going with the baseball team to Pendleton and we’re going to play in a tournament against other teams in Oregon. It’s not only going to be a baseball trip but a way for us to bond, get to know each other, and hopefully become closer as players and friends.”

Abbi Maben

“I’m leaving the Friday before spring break to go to California with the La Salle softball team to play softball and go to Disneyland. We play two teams from Oregon and two other teams from California.”

Teachers:

Mr. Hortsch

“I’m going to McMenamins with my family. We’re going to be staying at the Old St. Francis School [in] Bend for two nights and three days. [We will] probably get out in the snow and have a good time.”
Ms. Schuster

“My family and I are flying to San Diego and then we get on a tour bus that drives us around to different locations in California. [We will be visiting] Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree, and some hiking in the Grand Canyon.”
