Despite the difficulties and adjustments that can come with freshman year, Franny Bengston has managed to maintain an impressive 4.07 GPA so far, all while participating in various activities. Franny says her freshman year has gone well and although she was nervous at the beginning of the year she overcame that because of how positive everyone at La Salle is.

“I was super afraid to come here because I came from a tiny school, but La Salle is super nice and everyone is very kind and welcoming,” she said.

Franny played on the JV soccer team in the fall and is currently participating in the running crew for La Salle’s spring musical, “Into the Woods.” Franny also is a member of the dog appreciation club, and the Equality Alliance. In her free time Franny says, “I like to hang out with my friends, go to coffee shops, go shopping and watch Netflix.”

Franny says that her most difficult class is Spanish because it is challenging and there are a lot of tests. However, Spanish is also Franny’s favorite class because, “Mrs. Kessler is amazing and super nice all the time.”

In her sophomore year Franny will be taking five honors classes which are Honors Biology, Honors Algebra 2 / Trigonometry, Honors English 2, Honors Spanish 3 and she is currently deciding between AP World History and AP Physics.

In order to maintain her grades while participating in extracurricular activities Franny says, “I just try to get my homework done as soon as possible. Especially when soccer was happening, as soon as soccer practice was over I would go home and do all my homework so that way I could have the rest of the night to watch TV or do other things.”

She says that getting her work done early is also something that helps her avoid feeling stressed.

In her future Franny hopes to be a pediatrician because “I really want to work with kids and I really like kids. The thought of being able to help them sounds really fun.”
