Humans of La Salle: Spring 2016 Edition
June 1, 2016
Inspired by the popular website and Instagram page, Humans of New York, La Salle Journalism students took a trip around the school and asked their peers for an update on their lives. Take a look at the results:
Alex Baasten, senior:
“My biggest struggle this year was deciding what college to attend next year has been very difficult for me this year. I kept finding really great schools; however, with so many different factors it has been very hard for me to choose. Distance was the largest factor contributing to my decision and I have decided to go to Oregon State so that I can remain close to my family”
Christian Criglow, senior:
“The thing that I’m most concerned about going into community college is finding the direction I want to take my life in. I didn’t get a very good idea of what I want to do for the rest of my life in high school, so I’m kind of nervous that I won’t find something I feel I was meant to do”
Anna McClow, freshman:
“I’m stressed about my grades and trying to maintain a 3.75 GPA and maintain my sleep schedule at the same time.”
Deborah Schmitt, senior, and Cooper Allen, junior:
“The funniest thing that happened in Spanish class was when Señora Moran got off topic while we were learning about the environment. Next thing we knew, we were watching shark videos.”
Grant Starr, sophomore:
“I mostly struggle with my determination to get things done…basically procrastination. It just doesn’t connect in my mind that there are important things that need to get done.”
Izzy Thiele, junior:
“There’s this quote I like. It’s ‘everyone wants sunshine, no want wants pain but to make a rainbow, you need a little bit of rain.'”
Kiana Christensen, junior:
“Find something fun to do junior year outside of school otherwise junior year will suck. I hang out with my friends every weekend and they make junior year worth it”
Richard Nguy, sophomore:
“I love art because it is an outlet where I can put all of my creative energy. I love portraying the beauty in everyday life, because I think we don’t appreciate it enough.”
Silas Warner, senior:
“Paying for college is hard. I’m working full time this summer to make money.”
Dominic Jauregui, senior:
“OSU was the only college I applied to. I got in.”
