Boys Tennis Cleared the Courts at Districts

The boys tennis team ended their season on a high note with a long fought victory at districts. The team placed first at this week’s district competition, and is sending two players to the now approaching 5A State Championships.
Concerning the boys and their accomplishments this season, head coach, Mike Stone stated, “Several of our JV players have improved greatly this year.” The team is proud of their hard work and dedication this season, and are now sending two seniors, Thomas Foy and Nico Hey, to the State Championships for winning the doubles district tournament.
Throughout a season filled with both sun and rain, the team has pushed through and has claimed a spot in the upcoming State Championship. This week’s NWOC District Tournament was held at Parkrose High School. The tournament started Monday, May 10th and concluded Wednesday, May 11th. At the end of the tournament, La Salle emerged victorious, claiming the title of Co-League Champions.
In addition, the team recently won the OSSA Spring Academic All-State award for achieving the highest overall GPA. The boys tennis team placed first by accumulating a GPA of 3.76, the highest out of all 5A high schools in the state.

The 2016 5A State Championship will start Thursday, May 19th and end Saturday, May 21st. Come and support the team next weekend at the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation Center.
